Intervideo wants controlling stake in Ulead
DVD software developer Intervideo announced plans to take a controlling stake in Ulead Systems to between 50.1 and 85 percent. The proposal suggests a purchase of 30.1 percent to 65 percent of Ulead shares and comes subsequent to a previous purchase of 18.5 percent of shares plus an additional 1.5 percent of shares to be purchased outside of the tender offer.
The deal is valued at between $23 and $49 million. The tender offer is scheduled to expire on April 13, 2005.
Ulead is known mainly for its video, imaging and DVD authoring software. (THG)
