New Internet start-up hopes for last-minute shoppers
Columbus (OH) - A new online shopping search engine may have missed most of the critical holiday shopping crowd, but it hopes to entice the many procrastinators with its advanced slate of search tools.
Mytriggers.com puts an emphasis on the in-store pickup option offered at online stores. Many big-box retailers allow consumers to purchase items online and pick them up in the store, usually the same day, a feature overlooked by similar sites like Froogle.
Glenn Meyers, CEO of the Columbus, OH-based start-up, says, "Even though the shipping cut-off date has passed for most retailers, consumers can still use the Web to find what they want at the price they want to pay, hit click to buy, then simply go to their local store to pick up the item in minutes."
The site searches all the big stores, like Amazon and Overstock.com, as well the online versions of Best Buy, Circuit City, and more. Mytriggers says that it is also in sync with site stock information, automatically filtering out stores that do not have the item available. For search terms that do not yield any stores with stock, like the Wii, it brings up a list of matching active Ebay auctions.
