In our application testing, we can see that the Opteron takes second place in all our tests, yet its results are more skewed towards the Xeon 5080. In the first two tests the Xeon 5160 is 16-22% faster than the Opteron. The Winrar compression time was a direct result of the Single Cycle SSE of the Woodcrest processor.
