Intel Unveils Two Itanium 2 Chips
Intel Corp. unveiled Tuesday two Itanium 2 chips for dual-processor systems, expanding the company’s offerings in low-cost, low-power systems. "One processor is at 1.40 GHz with a 1.5MB level-three (L3) cache, while the other is at 1.0 GHz with the same L3 cache. The second chip consumes about half the power of existing Itanium 2 processors, the Santa Clara, Calif., company said."
