Intel unveils 800MHz Xeon
Intel has announced the first chip to make full use of the company's new Coppermine process, an 800MHz Xeon for workstations and servers.
Equipped with 256K of on-chip cache, the chip is designed for dual-processor configurations.
Existing Xeon products for 4-, 8-, 16-, and 64-way systems use up to 2MB of discrete Level 2 cache.
The chip is in full production now.
