Intel to slash Pentium prices
Intel is expected to cut Pentium II and Pentium III prices by as much as 41 percent on Monday.
Prices for a 550MHz Pentium III will drop 26 percent, from $658 to $487.
The biggest price cuts will come on 500MHz Pentium III chips, down 41 percent from $423 to $251.
The 450MHz Pentium III will be reduced by about 21 percent from $230 to $183, while the new 600MHz Pentium III will stay the same at $669.
