Intel takes equity stake in Sitara
Intel has taken an equity stake in Sitara Networks Inc., a developer of Internet performance solutions designed to improve the quality of service of Internet, intranet and extranet applications.
Intel's will provide Sitara with access to its Quick Web technology,which was formerly sold to consumers through Internet Service Providers. Sitara will utilize Intel's advanced server-based Web caching and image compression technology in products targeted to enterprises. The technology helps to speed up the delivery of Web pages and reduce bandwidth costs associated with accessing the Internet.
Sitara plans to announce new products that incorporate Intel technology in the second quarter of this year.
