Intel has released the first PC camera with a built-in video capture plug to bring live or recorded video directly into home computers.
The Intel PC Camera Pro Pack includes a high-quality VGA camera that supports 640-by-480 image resolution and allows users to easily import video to play, record and edit on their PC.
Other features include a video phone to make video phone calls over dial-up and broadband Internet connections, video e-mail, and software to create movies or presentations complete with video, still images, titles and transitions.
A nine-foot cable that links the camera to the PC, and cables to capture video and audio directly from a camcorder or VCR are also included.
The Intel PC Camera Pro Pack will be available starting September 13 for $129, or $99 after manufacturer's rebate.
