Intel said to ship a million 845 SDRAM chipsets to ECS at cut-rate price
Intel is said to have released one million SDRAM-based 845 chipsets to motherboard maker Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) in an effort to lower its quarterly inventory levels. According to sources, the chipsets, shipped through Intel's Taiwanese distributor World Peace Industrial (WPI), were sold to ECS for nearly 50% less than the current quote of US$14.
