Intel profit, sales rise
Intel Corp. reported second-quarter profit that doubled from year-earlier levels Tuesday on stronger chip sales. "During the three months ended June 28, the world's largest chip maker said it earned $896-million (U.S.) or 14 cents a share, compared with $446-million or 7 cents a share a year ago."
