Intel price cuts to lead to fiercer competition in discrete chipset market

Competition in the discrete chipset market is expected to be heightened further with Intel's price cuts scheduled for the first quarter of 2003. According to the chip giant's roadmap, it is planning to lower prices on most of its discrete products, while maintaining the quotes of its integrated chipsets.
