Intel posts low-end 815ep chipset

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Without fanfare or press activity, Intel Corp. has posted information on its developers' Website about its new 815ep chipset, aimed at game and graphic application developers. Intel has disabled the 815e's integrated graphics, making the chipset attractive to those who don't want to pay for onboard integrated graphics, preferring external graphics capability. The cost will reportedly be about 10 percent lower than the 815e but will retain "PC133 SDRAM capability, APG4X, ATA100, and the enhanced I/O Controller Hub (ICH2)."
