Intel is now shipping a new motherboard based on the Celeron processor and the recently announced 810 chipset.
The MicroATX form factor CA810 motherboard also includes a Creative Labs Soundblaster Audio PCI 64 V subsystem, which supports downloadable wavetable and 3D positional audio. An optional Intel 82559 LAN controller provides network connectivity with full duplex support, multiple priority transmit, and IEEE 802.3u auto-negotiation.
The CA810 supports Celeron processor speeds from 300MHz to 466MHz, and up to 512MB of SDRAM in two 168-pin sockets. It includes dual USB connectors, an integrated IDE accelerator with Ultra ATA/66 disk I/O, and four PCI slots.
The basic motherboard configuration is expected to sell for about $110, while an enhanced LAN configuration will be priced at $145. More information about the CA810 can be found at http://www.intel.com/design and channel.intel.com/business .
