Intel and Micron offer 8 Gbit NAND flash to spot market players

Intel and Micron Technology recently started releasing 8Gbit NAND flash memory chips, fabricated by their joint venture IM Flash Technologies, to the spot market, and customer feedback is satisfactory, according to market sources. The chips are manufactured under a 90nm process, and each one consists of four individual 2Gbit dies, which are stacked to reach the 8Gbit capacity, the sources said.
