Despite aggressive moves from AMD and VIA, Intel still dominates embedded x86 market
Despite both AMD and VIA Technologies aggressively deploying their embedded x86 platform solutions in the industrial PC (IPC) market, Intel has been able to maintain a dominant position in the sector, with its market share reaching 70-80%.
Both Intel and VIA have been developing their respective x86 embedded platform market for over five years, with AMD extending its presence once it acquired the Geode processor line from National Semiconductor in 2003.
