Sources: Intel to encounter challenges in IGP market
Although Intel plans to roll out its G965 IGP chipset in August, chipset makers are conservative about the chip giant’s ability to grab a performance edge over other chipset makers in the integrated graphics processor (IGP) segment, sources in Taiwan’s chipset sector noted. The upcoming G965 chipset will add Shader Model 3 and Direct X 9 capabilities with advanced 3D performance to Intel’s chipset lineup.
