Intel favors McKinley over Itanic at IDF
The Register reports that Intel Corp. has given further indications that McKinley will be the company's IA-64 processor choice to take on the business market. Intel CEO Craig Barrett showed McKinley running on prototype 64bit Whistler, Linux IA-64 and HP-UX, and called it a "major new platform release" with chipset support for Direct Infiniband I/O, and Scalability Port.
