Manageability And Virtualization: AMT And VT

Intel's Virtualization Technology is something that fits perfectly with the multi-core processor strategy. The idea of VT is to allow several independent, virtual operating system partitions that can be freely used together. For example, think about a home entertainment PC that runs a Media Center Edition of Windows to power your home cinema system, while another partition hosts the regular Windows XP install that you will be able to use simultaneously.
Corporate applications would benefit as well. For instance, an administration partition could always be active for support or security reasons. The idea is all about running multiple virtual computers on only a single machine.
Intel Active Management Technology is something that is coupled to the next generation platforms. By adding some more hardware that can be used even when the system is turned off, Intel wants to facilitate inventories and system maintenance.
