Intel delays Timna

Intel has delayed the launch of its first integrated processor, code-named Timna, until next year, citing continuing problems with a component that allows chips designed for Rambus memory to work with traditional synchronous memory.

The company also has decided not to resume selling its 820 chipset with standard memory after problems with the component, known as the memory translation hub, forced it to recall nearly 1 million motherboards.
