Intel cuts Pentium III, Xeon prices

Intel has cut prices of its Pentium III and Pentium III Xeons by as much as 24 percent.

The 933MHz PIII was slashed 10 percent, to $669, while the 866MHz and 850MHz versions were reduced by 17 percent, to $465 and $455. 800MHz and 750MHz Pentium IIIs fell 24 percent and 22 percent, to $294 and $262, respectively, while the 733MHz and 700MHz chips were each trimmed 11 percent, to $219 and $214.

Intel's 256 kb-cache Xeons were reduced by 9 percent for the 933-MHz version, to $719, and by 16 percent for the 866-MHz version, to $515.
