Intel chipset shortage gives SiS an opportunity and VIA a challenge
The recent shortage of Intel’s 845 and 865 chipsets is helping Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) enjoy demand that exceeds supply and the company is forecasting a strong second-half financial outlook. In contrast, VIA Technologies commented that rising shipments of entry-level chipsets are now limiting the company’s profit growth.
