Intel Caught Off Guard by AMD Release
Though AMD’s 64-bit desktop chip, the Athlon64, was announced months ago, Intel appears to have been caught off guard with its release. Now the world’s biggest semiconductor maker, which thoroughly dominates the PC chip market, has announced price reductions on its Pentium lineup.
