Intel Corp. has announced plans to acquire Trillium Digital Systems, whose source code software is used by more than 500 projects in wireless, Internet, broadband networks, and telephony. The acquisition is being presented as a shortcut for Intel into communications applications such as Internet protocols, ATM, ISDN, and wireless connections.
