Intel aims Tualatin at notebooks
The VP of the Intel architecture group and GM of the mobile platforms group has announced, according to the Digitimes of Taiwan, that the company's next-generation desktop processors will be the Pentium 4 with DDR SDRAM. The notebook processor of choice will be the Pentium III Tualatin, but the company has not announced if RDRAM or DDR SDRAM memory will be supported. A company executive also admitted that the 830M Almador chipset for notebooks, due this quarter, would be delayed, though the Tualatin is reportedly compatible with the existing Mobile 440BX chipset.
