Abundant availability of Intel 945 chipsets fuels demand for DDR2
The supply of Intel’s 945 chipsets has recently increased to a level that is sufficient enough to drive up demand as well as prices for DDR2 memory, according to sources at Taiwan DRAM makers.
With an abundant supply of systems chipsets, the proportion of 945-series motherboards in the clone market topped 15% recently, a substantial increase from the fourth quarter of last year, creating demand for DDR2, the sources indicated.
