Intel 1GHz notebook clockthrottled?
Mike Magee of the Register reports that Intel's labeling of the 1GHz Pentium III mobile chip introduced last week may be misleading. According to his quoted sources, "A 1GHz Pentium III mobile is too hot to run at that speed all the time, so manufacturers need to 'clock-throttle' the chip, which means momentarily reducing the speed to avoid overheating."
