Mike Magee of The Inquirer reports that Intel Corp. has confirmed that it will launch two boxed versions of the 1.7GHz Pentium 4 on April 15. At the same time, it will drop prices on P4s and PIIIs as well as other chips.

CNET News reports that the 1.7GHz Pentium 4 will officially debut April 23 in Dell Computer other PCs as Intel releases an 850MHz version of its Celeron processor.
