Intel 1.7GHz P4 to debut with P4, PIII price cuts

Mike Magee of The Inquirer reports that Intel Corp. has confirmed that it will launch two boxed versions of the 1.7GHz Pentium 4 on April 15. At the same time, it will drop prices on P4s and PIIIs as well as other chips.
CNET News reports that the 1.7GHz Pentium 4 will officially debut April 23 in Dell Computer other PCs as Intel releases an 850MHz version of its Celeron processor. Both Intel and Advanced Micro Devices will officially cut prices by at least 20 percent on April 15 and 16 though the reductions have already shown up at retailers,
