The tests were run in default resolution. In Best Photo mode, the Stylus Photo 830 prints a 10x15 cm photo in about three minutes. To benefit from the top resolution of 5760x720 dpi, you have to go into the driver's advanced settings and activate the mode RPM (Resolution Performance Manager ). This improves the quality of the image, but the printing time goes through the roof: over eight minutes for a 10x15! In A4, color or black and white take three times longer in RPM: around 24 minutes.
In the end, the Stylus Photo 830, even in (Best Photo ) default resolution, is considerably behind its rivals. The Canons (S750, S900) print 10x15 photos in about one minute, and an HP Deskjet or Canon S820 in about two.
