Epson C82
Like the cartridge lifetime tests, the speed tests were not run in default resolution but in Text & Photo mode. This meant that the monochrome speed dropped from 9.7 to 4 pages per minute. In color, the difference is not as great: 2.2 ppm instead of 4.5.
So we have a paradox here: based on this, you find that the C62, at US$99 or 99 euros, is faster than the C82. However, this is not true for the Photo mode, where the C82 prints a 10x15 cm a whole 7 seconds faster than the C62.
By the way, the Canon i550 prints in monochrome at a rate of 11 pages per minute. In color, it runs at half the speed with 5 pages per minute. It produces a 10x15 photo in just one minute. But when you think that the i550 is supposed to do 18 ppm and the C82 22 ppm, you realize there is definitely something rotten in the State of Printers.
