Ingram Micro Expands in Network Security
Security is big stuff in today’s corporate landscape and investing in technology that can enable it seems like a good call. Ingram Micro Inc. has acquired VPN Dynamics, a network security products training and services provider, and its minority investment in Securematics, a network security products and solutions distributor. VPN Dynamics offers specialized network security education using vendor-authorized courseware and lab settings through online, on-site and classroom training. The company offers a complementary suite of services and solutions for Ingram Micro’s existing portfolio of vendor and solution provider partners, as well as greater expansion capabilities in this growing segment. Securematics provides its services to a large number of global system integrators, service providers and value-added resellers. It will continue to distribute the full suite of VPN Dynamics’ training services. Ingram Micro’s financial investment in Securematics will allow it to increase its visibility in the growing network security space. As a result of these actions, VPN Dynamics will now operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro Inc., while Securematics will continue to operate as an independent company. Both of these companies are located in Santa Clara, CA.
