iMode and WAP to face off
The NTT DoCoMo Mobile Communications Network is growing its iMode data service technology, an alternative to Wireless Application Protocol, beyond Japan where the system seems to have found a level of popularity and stability. NTT is moving ahead of the local consumer demand for Web phones into new international markets, apparently hoping that WAP will fail to satisfy the market.
