Welcome to the TwitchGuru slide show. In this soon-to-be regular feature we intend to bring you previews of upcoming and just released games in visual glory. We do hope you enjoy today's selection, which includes Godfather: The Game and Guild Wars: Factions.

Godfather: The Game

"They made me an offer I couldn't refuse." Electronic Arts' new title Godfather: The Game is based on the iconic film The Godfather, which many consider the greatest movie ever made. The game was apparently good enough for Godfather actors Marlon Brando, James Caan and Robert Duvall to lend their voices and likeness to the recently launched title. It's ironic that Duvall signed off on the game but declined to appear in The Godfather Part III (smart move, in retrospect) because of salary issues. No word on how much EA had to shell out to Duvall and the other actors.

"This is for Sonny!" Godfather: The Game was rated M, apparently with good reason. It would be hard to make a video game based on a gangster film without some bloodshed and beatings. In fact, many reviewers have pointed out that the game features a Grand Theft Auto-style gameplay with a free-flowing virtual world with plenty of freedom to commit a variety of violent and unscrupulous acts.

"Here, let me help you with that." Godfather: The Game has won favourable reviews so far and has been one of the top-selling titles since its release last month. Can Godfather Part 2: The Game be far behind? Though Godfather trilogy director Francis Ford Coppola and actor Al Pacino, who played Michael Corleone in all three movies, have refused to have any involvement with the game, it's a good bet that there will be a sequel at some point.
