Handheld LCD projectors coming soon
Korean company Iljin Display, has developed a new LCD projector module that fits into the palm of your hand. The module uses a single projector panel, rather than the triple red, green, blue panels of traditional projectors. Iljin said is working with manufacturers to bring small projectors to handheld gadgets like MP3 players and cellphones.
Projectors have become a common fixture in corporate presentations, but they are bulky, loud and consume a lot of power. Iljin promises that this new module can project a large ten inch, full-color image onto screens and walls.
Iljin plans on releasing these modules in September for $500. Consumer products are expected to become available early next year.
