Internet Explorer 9 Beta is Ready for Download
Upgrade your IE to a much better version, if you're OK with being in beta.
As promised, Microsoft has released the first public beta of Internet Explorer 9.
Along with the first beta is the reveal of the new UI, which Microsoft boasts very proudly is focused on the content of the website and not the browser software itself. That doesn't mean that the browser is light on features, however, as IE9 integrates very well with Windows 7.
Now users can pin websites directly onto the taskbar, which can have their own unique jump lists. Websites can also program in badge notifications to the icons when they reside on the taskbar, which sounds like it'd be great for web-based mail.

Might as well give it a bash, i just hope theres an easier rool back to 8, than what there was when 8 first went beta!
is there anybody really bothering installing IE?

I'd like to think that a true tech enthusiast is willing to give anything a go, and then stick with what works best. If I like IE9, I'll use it. Simple as that.
Using it now - and liking it a lot. It combines the cleanness and speed of Chrome with the rich functions or IE. A good combination.
might give it a bash when I get home, although i normally fall apart without my FF extensions!
Im pleased to admit, im impressed! Granted there's still some work to be done, but as it is now, it seems to be an enjoyable application. Other IE's have never been this fun to use, lets hope that by the time its ready for full release, its still fun to use!
can some mod or admin do something about zhengyuping placing adverts for sites on these boards please?
I feel it brings the tone of Tom's down when they are allowed to continue
Will give this a try later, looking forward to a new revision (not the IE 8 causes me problems of any kind).

@damian86 above: ...stop being such a fanboi ...i gather you buy ATI cards and have an Apple phone right? (just a guess, most fanbois do xD).
Any progression, from a company you love or hate is a good one, it drives improvments in wich we ALL can benefit from, so get over it
Let's see what this can do ^^
whats wrong with buying ati cards?
i do, but im open to anything thats out there, but only if the bang v's bucks is in order!
Using ati and nvidia, though i must admit to keeping the hell away from apple products, they dont give me any kind of bang to buck thrill at all!

There is nothing wrong with that if you prefer them, that's kindof my point in the first place, if people prefer IE then so be it ... it's a personal choice. (same with the ATI-Nvidia thing ..i often get pulled apart for saying i am happy with my gtx480, wich is kindof insanely good, as is the 58xx/59xx lol)
it's a typical fanboi reaction to insult something you dont like rather than leave it alone... i was trying for some sarcasm ^^
I prefer the Nvidia ones myself as i trust there longevity more ...but i certainly woudln't step on your toes for buying what you like
Even funnier with IE as it's not like you have to pay for it... don't like it .. dont use it, simples ...i personally look forward to trying the newer versions, i do not use firefox as it stands but if i had a problem with IE i would try it of course, i would not however pop on hardware forums and start insulting things i have not even tried yet ^^

I know, and I always like to test new SW out there, I'm just saying, today everybody uses chrome or FF,IE is the most hated browser at the moment.

Eh, no, they don't. 60% of the world still runs on IE.
By the way, I've installed IE9 and I am deeply impressed with what I've seen so far. I'm a bit of a FF fanboy, but IE9 puts Microsoft back in the game, no doubt.
