IDF Spring 2002 Days 2 and 3

All bets were on for insiders speculating on the clock speed that Intel would introduce at its desktop conference held during the IDF, on Wednesday, February 27. The latest that the chip manufacturer had introduced was the Pentium 4 with 3 GHz, so expectations were running even higher as a video clip from the Intel lab was presented, showing a Pentium 4 with 4000 MHz. A few industry experts took this soberly - actually, they were expecting clock speeds of up to 5 GHz.

The demo allowed us to determine that the P4 with 0.13 micron at least has the corresponding potential for increasing the clock speed.
