Rambus has been a gold sponsor at IDF for years. Financially, the enterprise is as fit as a fiddle and, among other things, lives on licensing fees.
Niche product: RDRAM with true 600 MHz in a PC system based on Intel's 850E.
We already had this at the THG lab: The SiS 658 chipset with RDRAM support offers only weak performance. The SiS 659 is required!
At present, Rambus is concentrating on the network segment.
