ICANN races to meet .net deadline
Consultants working for the peak domain names body are racing to finalise a report that will be used to select a new registrar for the key .net domain ahead of today’s deadline for its release.
The Los Angeles-based Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced in December it would re-tender the operation of .net, which has been run by US registrar VeriSign.
