IC design firms turning to IDMs and smaller foundries
With high 6" fab utilization at United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) since late last year threatening to stretch through year-end, many Taiwanese IC design firms are turning to other chip contract-manufacturers out of cost and capacity considerations.
