IBM to fab Compaq's Alphas
Citing sources "close to Compaq" The Register reports that IBM has struck a deal to manufacture Compaq's Alpha microprocessors.
AMD may also make Alphas at its Dresden fab, the report states.
Compaq CEO Eckhard Pfeiffer is rumored to have brokered the deal. The story is posted at The Register .
