IBM supercomputer to analyze big bang
A supercomputer designed to handle explosions of data on Earth will be looking at data from the biggest explosion of all - the Big Bang that created the universe billions of years ago. IBM’s Blue Gene/L supercomputer will tackle a "scientific grand challenge" by helping astronomers "examine the beginnings of the earliest stars and galaxies after the formation of the universe," said IBM engineering and technology services spokesperson Cary Ziter.
