IBM Reports 16% Revenue Increase for Q1
IBM Corporation reported earnings for its first quarter ending March 31st as up 16% percent over the same period one year ago, with earnings a hefty $1.38 billion. Revenue for Q1 was reported at $20.1 billion. It is interesting to note that these earnings were credited to IBM's Global Services Division, which signed $12 billion in new deals in Q1. IBM's hardware division had sales of $5.8 billion, a decline of 1%, while its software division posted a revenue increase of 8% for $3.1 billion.
