IBM may outsource Power server production to Taiwan
IBM recently acknowledged the expertise Taiwan manufacturers have producing x86 processor based servers, with IBM Taiwan president Sophia Tong saying that Taiwan makers may also receive OEM orders to produce the company’s Power-series of servers from 2007. Industry watchers commented that Wistron would be the likely recipient of orders from IBM, as the company has enjoyed a good relationship with IBM in the past.
