IBM launches "Peace, Love & Linux" campaign
IBM will kick off its "Peace, Love & Linux" campaign this week with a six-story billboard in New York's Times Square. Ads running internationally will feature a dancing version of Tux the Penguin, the Linux mascot, and a 1960s retro feel using psychedelic graphics.
Linux creator Linus Torvalds has reportedly approved the ad campaign, which will cost several million dollars according to the company. IBM credits its growth in the server hardware market to its Linux connections.
