IBM joins Athlon parade
IBM will incorporate AMD's new Athlon processor in two new Aptiva desktop PCs.
One model, the $1,999 Aptiva S Series 860, will offer a 600MHz Athlon chip, 128MB of RAM, a 20GB hard drive and a DVD-ROM drive. IBM will offer a similarly configured Aptiva S Series 865 PC - complete with a 650MHz Athlon - priced at $2,299.
