The iPod Touch to compensate for the lack of iPhone
Want a Touchscreen marvel in your hands without the phone? Well you can now settle for the iPod Touch which has all the advantages of its musical interface and touch sensitive screen. This model also has the first decent video player of Apple’s range thanks to its 3.5 inch (diagonal) screen. We’re also going to examine the latest iPod Nano, which has a video feature of its very own.
A touch more beautiful than the iPhone
The iPhone boasts about its manufacturing quality and its slender design. The iPod Touch takes this a step further with a thickness of only 8mm. The flash memory has been improved and allows for a 16 GB capacity, which seems strange for devices that are getting thinner and thinner. The iPod Nano is even slimmer with a thickness of only 6.5mm. This, coupled with the fact that it’s only 50 grams, means it gets lost easily in your pocket.
Flawless finishing On top of their appealing shapes, the two iPods show a flawless assembly. The first series of the new iPod Nano had a flaw with the alignment of the screen but this has been corrected. The same applies to the Touch, of which all parts (We’re assured -Ed.) were put together with great care.
The best interface goes to the iPod Touch Of course the iPod Touch’s screen is better than the smaller Nano and it stands out from its competitors with it’s completely touch sensitive screen. The latter is a model which takes a leaf out of the iPhone’s book by being more user-friendly. The menus are clear and intuitive and there’s no need to refer to the instruction manual. This feature puts it far ahead of other mp3 players on the market.
Flawless Design- Apple-Style:
It is impossible to criticise Apple when talking about design or interface. Again, the Nano uses the same system as every other iPod before it. Apples have, however, added a new interface for viewing illustrated covers, photos and videos.
