Apple's new iPhone is finally close enough to Touch
Well, there you have it. The waiting is over. Apple’s much anticipated iPhone has finally hit the stores.
Did it seem like a bit of a let down to you, too ? We’ve all been reading (and writing) about the iPhone for so long now, it’s hard to get excited about something when you feel like the fad is over before it’s even started here in the UK.
But people did, and we’re happy for them. Hundreds of diehard Apple fans waited outside the stores the night before the release in eager anticipation.
Now just to clarify the iPhone didn’t come out until 6pm on Friday. So, that means some of the people queuing were waiting as long as 26 hours outside the shop.
The staff at the Apple Store in London cheered on Friday as they opened their doors and welcomed the masses to the iPhone experience.
First to get his hands on one of the precious touch-screen phones was 20-year-old student, Tom Jasinski. Jasinski told the BBC that the phone was definately "worth the wait." A BBC reporter was at the launch and described the scene of waiting fans as “mayhem” with staff from the store walking up and down “whipping waiting customers into a frenzy”.
As if they needed to be whipped into a frenzy. Mind you, after 26 hours waiting they had probably passed out.
