Well, here it comes; the long awaited Irish launch of the iPhone.

It’s all been a bit quiet on the iPhone front the last month or two and just when we thought we were shot of it, O2 Ireland announced that the iPhone will be available on the soggy Emerald Isle as of March the 14th.

Prepare yourselves for the inevitable barrage of news items covering the event. We’ll more than likely send some poor unsuspecting news hack to talk the iPhoners that will queue up, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the iPhone to Ireland.

As mentioned the iPhones will be tied to O2 Ireland on an exclusive contract.

Purchasing an 8 GB model will set you back €399 (inc VAT) or €499 (inc VAT) for the 16 GB version.

Three new iPhone tariffs will be available from O2, starting at €45, all of which will include anytime minutes, texts and a 1GB data bundle.

Watch this space, more to follow.
