Hynix launches first 2 GByte SoDIMM for Notebooks
Seoul - Hynix Semiconductor announced Tuesday a 2 GByte SoDIMM for the notebook PC market as well as 4GByte Registered Dual In-line Memory Module (RDIMM) for server applications.
Both modules will use Hynix’s 1 Gbit DDR2 device manufactured on the firm’s 0.11-micron process technology. Mass production is scheduled to coincide with Intel’s launch of DDR2 chipsets for servers (Lindenhurst) and notebooks (Alviso).
Intel has not yet confirmed an official release date, but industry sources point to the third quarter of this year for Lindenhurst and to the first quarter 2005 for Alviso.
