HP Unveils Next Generation of Vectra PCs

Hewlett-Packard Co. has introduced new Intel Celeron- and Pentium II-based Vectra PCs featuring a compact design that is about half the size of a conventional desktop PC.

The new Vectras are designed for quieter operation than previous models, with greater expandability and easier access to the motherboard and internal components. The mini-tower offers six slots; the desktop model has four.

A HP Vectra VL PC with a Pentium II 400MHz processor, 8.4GB hard-disk drive, 64MB SDRAM, Matrox MGA G200 2D graphics controller with 8MB video memory, integrated sound, 3Com Fast Etherlink XL 10/100 TX LAN adapter, 24X CD-ROM and Windows NT carries an estimated street price of $1,337.
