Hewlett Packard Co. has announced it has begun shipping AlphaServers: high-end, 32-processor HP AlphaServer GS1280 systems. "Based on EV7 Alpha processor technology, the systems offer a suite of software transition tools and new business practices - the Alpha RetainTrust program, designed to offer capacity and growth through joint planning and active support"
